X Factor in fix row after Chloe-Jasmine Whichello auditions TWICE - Daily Mail

By Marc Jackson for MailOnline

The X Factor has been embroiled in yet another fix controversy after contestant Chloe-Jasmine Whichello was allowed to perform for judges twice despite fluffing her first audition.

The posh singer reportedly took to the stage to sing jazz standard Misty, only to forget her words and break down in tears in front of an audience of 5,000 at Wembley.

However, viewers on Saturday only saw her second audition in front of a different crowd, when she impressed the panel with Why Don't You Do Right and sailed through to the next stage of the competition.

According to The Sun, producers decided to give the former private school student another shot as they are desperate to have her on the live shows.

A source tells the newspaper: 'Chloe's original arena audition was so bad it was never shown.

'She started singing the Ella Fitzgerald song Misty but soon forgot her words and started crying and had to abandon it. It was a car crash.

'With a different song and a better performance, she got through. It's clear bosses are absolutely desperate to keep Chloe in the show.'

A spokesperson for the ITV hit has explained: 'Judges on occasion give a second chance if they feel the contestant hasn't fulfilled their potential from their Room audition.'

Viewers watching on Saturday only saw Chloe win over the panel and the crowd with her cut-glass accent and eccentric personality.

Louis Walsh enthused: 'I loved your audition, I love everything about you. I love your name, I love your style, I love the whole vibe.'

Cheryl Cole chimed in: 'There's something really fascinating and mesmerising about you.

'Today I could tell you were a bit more nervous, but you're elegant, graceful, you're like old school Hollywood glamour. I love you.'

But it was Simon Cowell who seemed most under her spell.

He mused: 'I don't think you've yet connected with the right song and you are suffering from nerves. But I think you're interesting.

'We've never had anyone like you on the show before. Just in terms of the way you look, the way you sound.'

The 23-year-old caused a stir following her very first audition after viewers recognised her from Naomi Campbell's modelling hunt The Face.

It also emerged that she had previously auditioned for The X Factor in 2006, when then-judge Sharon Osbourne branded her 'every parent's nightmare'.
