Victoria Beckham FINALLY makes it to her new London store after jetting back ... - Daily Mail

By Frances Kindon and Jason Chester for MailOnline

It's been two whole days since the inaugural opening of her flagship store in London.

And finally Victoria Beckham has been able to enjoy the fruits of her labour, making her very first trip to her swish Mayfair boutique on Saturday.

Despite having caught a flight back from New York less than 24-hours before, the 40-year-old was, as always, the image of perfection.

The mother-of-four kept it smart in a calf-length animal-print pencil skirt with zip-back detailing, showing off her dainty ankles and tanned legs.

Looking every inch the boss, she gave her height a boost with a pair of black stilettos, which she matched with her simple black jumper.

Wearing her brunette locks in gentle waves, Victoria entered the store clutching an envy-inducing black handbag, which featured a chunky gold chain handle.

And, as always, the former Spice Girl topped off her look with a pair of dark sunglasses.

No doubt she's been itching to visit her shop in Mayfair's trendy Dover Street since her husband David attended Thursday's grand opening on her behalf.

Unfortunately, Victoria was unable to make it as she was busy addressing the United Nations in New York, where she made an impassioned plea to safeguard women's health and stop babies dying of Aids.

Unveiled as a new International Goodwill Ambassador, the role gets her instant membership of a celebrity club that includes Angelina Jolie, Emma Watson and Leonardo DiCaprio, who have all used their star status to draw attention to UN good works.

In a sober suit, and with barely a hint of her trademark pout, the 40-year-old said she was 'humbled and honoured' to represent the UN in its Aids campaign.

She said: 'For some reason people will listen to me. This is the beginning of an incredible journey for me.'

And as much as her words made people sit up and pay attention, all eyes were also on the fashionista's stunning array of outfits.

Stepping out on a chilly Friday morning to catch her flight home, Victoria was once again the centre of attention as she left her hotel and made her way towards a waiting car.

The fashion designer was greeted like royalty by the reverential staff members standing on either side of entrance as prepared for the short journey to JFK International airport.

Sporting a deep green windbreaker jacket that partially concealed her delicate features, Victoria looked focussed as a busy week slowly wound down.

The former pop sensation added to her look with a pair of skinny blue jeans, while striking black ankle boots boosted her height thanks to a killer two-inch heel.

Rounding off her ensemble with a pair of tinted Aviator sunglasses, Victoria climbed into her waiting car before making her way to the airport and a flight out of the United States.

While her debut boutique opened its doors on London's Dover Street on Thursday, the designer was in significantly more sober surroundings after being officially announced as a new UN ambassador.

Addressing members of the press, she said she was 'humbled and honoured' to represent the UN in its AIDS campaign, adding: 'For some reason people will listen to me. This is the beginning of an incredible journey for me.'

She decided to join the likes of Angelina Jolie, Emma Watson and Leonardo Dicaprio as an ambassador seemingly after a trip to South Africa where she met children stricken by Aids and spoke to afflicted mothers.

'I came home and I knew I had to do something,' the mother-of-four said.

'I think every woman has the right to health, and every woman has the right to give their children a healthy future.'

Meanwhile former footballer husband David Beckham was drawing a crowd after making a welcome appearance at her 6,000sq ft store launch.

The luxury boutique – Victoria's first foray into retail – has eschewed convention, embracing instead a minimalist look, with no cash registers, no display window and no rails.

Speaking to MailOnline about the unique space shortly before its opening, Victoria said: It's the first time people can see the brand through my eyes.

'I didn't want a traditional shop window, just a plain window, and a huge concrete sliding door.

'The floors weren't connected, and I said, "Wouldn't it be incredible to drill a hole through all three floors, so you could stand on the top floor and see the ground floor."'

She added: 'I didn't think it would be possible, but it was.'
